A Crystal prism “obelisk” A Gift from Napoleon
to Marie-Louise in 1811.

in Lake Geneva (Lac Le Mans) in 1897.
Original gift presented to Marie-Louise
at Compiegne for the Salon du Roi de Rome. It remained there and became a favorite of the Empress Eugeine.
Given
as a gift by Kaiser Willhelm to Mrs. Ada M. Reitz prior to W.W.I. The Crystal remained in her possession until her death in
1959. It has been in my possession since. Part of the original provenance is still legible on the base. Please click on the

Modigliani Little Peasant & The Shop Keeper
Modigliani (Amedeo Clemente Modigliani 1884 to 1920 ) The last years. 1917-1919
in Cagnes. Modigliani did two remarkable works while in this region for his health Prior to returning to Paris
on 5/27/1919. The Shopkeeper circa 1918 and the Little Peasant circa 1919. These works were done in the spirit of Giorgio
de Chirico and amplified the artist work of 1909 “the beggar of Livorno” This Colored Image is 8” 1/2 x
6" 3/4 overall. Copy of the 1918-1919 original in a lovely natural wood desk top presentation frame with black wood trim around
the image itself. Overall dimension is 8 ½ by 6 ¾ inches This unique image was originally done by Modigliani when he was 33
years old in 1918-19. Painting done in the south of France at the residence of Rachele Osterlind. Two years prior
to the artists death.
